Rules and Instructions
Jeopardy is hosted by Marina.
In Jeopardy, two teams compete in answering questions and building up their overall score. The team with the highest score at the end of the game is the winner.
Before the game, two captains are chosen and two teams are formed.
The Jeopardy Round:
The game starts with the host revealing four categories for the Jeopardy round. Each category consists of 5 questions worth 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 points respectively. The point value increases with the question's difficulty level.
Starting with the first team, the teams will take turns choosing the category and point amount for the question the players would like to hear. When the question is read, the team has up to 1 minute to come up with the correct answer. If the team answers correctly, the appropriate number of points is added to their score. If the team passes, their score doesn't change. If the team's answer is incorrect, the point value of the question is subtracted from their running score. In case of a pass or an incorrect answer, the opposing team has a chance to come up with an answer within 30 seconds. The same scoring rules apply.
In this round, there is one Daily Double. The question marked as Daily Double is preassigned by the game host before the game. The team which happens to pick the Daily Double question will decide the actual value of the answer by bidding on it. The team can bid any amount from 100 points to the team's entire current score at the moment of bidding. If the team has a negative score at the time of the Daily Double, the players can choose to bid up to 1000 points. The Daily Double Question must be answered. The team can not pass. In case of a correct answer, the bid amount is added to the team's score. In case of an incorrect answer, the bid amount is subtracted from the team's score and the opposing team cannot steal the question.
The Double Jeopardy Round:
In the Double Jeopardy round, the point amounts are 400, 800, 1200, 1600 and 2000 points, or double of the amounts played in the Jeopardy round. This round starts with the second team choosing the first question. The game is played the same as in the first round. Four new categories are revealed. This round has Two Daily Doubles.
The Final Jeopardy Round:
In the Final Jeopardy round, there are two categories, each category only has one question with no point value attached. The team which has the lower score at the moment of Final Jeopardy has the opportunity to select from the two categories. The other team by default will play the remaining category. After a brief discussion with his/her team, the captain of each team sends a private message via the TeamTalk application to the game host with the bid amount for the Final Jeopardy question. The bid can range from 1 point to the team's entire current score.
A question for the appropriate category is revealed for each team, and after discussing the possible answers for up to 2 minutes, the team captain must give a final answer. After both teams played their round, the host reveals the captains' bids and the correct answers to both Final Jeopardy questions. The bid amounts are then added to or subtracted from the respective team's score and the final score is announced, determining the winning team.
