Friday Farkle Frenzy

Friday Farkle Frenzy — Rules

Last updated: February 18, 2026

Friday Farkle Frenzy is a hosted dice game where the objective is to reach
10,000 points or more before your opponents. It is held in the
Shake, Rattle and Roll channel every Friday at noon Eastern.

The host rolls the dice, takes instructions from the players, and serves as the
official authority on all rules.

Each player competes individually against all other players.

Joining the Game

Players may join at any time before the round that precedes the final round.

If you arrive while a round is in progress, please do not interrupt gameplay.
New players will be added to the roster at the end of the current round and given
their turn before gameplay moves on to the next round.

At the end of each round, the host checks for new players.
Scores are read after the second round. If a new player joins while scores are being read,
they will be added at the end of the next round.

Roster & Game Setup

At the beginning of each game, the host will:

  • Randomize the roster
  • Roll six dice to determine the Factor of Fortune number
  • Roll six dice to determine the Factor of Fate number
  • Rolling the Factor of Fortune number adds 500 points to a progressive bonus pot.
  • Rolling the Factor of Fate number is a Fizzle Flop and acts the same as a farkle, but carries added danger of having their entire score wiped out if the following round results in another Fizzle Flop.

Player Turns

When the dice are rolled, the player must tell the host two things:

  1. What they see / what score they have
  2. How many dice they wish to roll next — or whether they want to stop and bank their points

At the beginning of each player’s turn, the host calls the player’s name and rolls the dice.

  • If after 3 seconds the player has not responded, the host calls their name a second time.
  • After 3 more seconds with no response, the player is considered absent and the next player’s name is called. The dice are repeated and gameplay moves on.

If a player is skipped:

  • Their name will be called once on their next turn.
  • They must respond immediately.
  • There will be no second call.
  • If they do not respond, the roll passes to the next player.

Absent players will continue to be skipped in future rounds unless they announce
themselves back in play at the end of a round without interrupting another player’s turn.

Scores & Final Round

If, after scores are read, a player has 10,000 points or more,
the game moves into the final round.

Each remaining player is told how many points they need to beat the current game point.
From there, it’s fight or farkle.

High score at the end of the final round is declared the Frenzy Flamebearer for the week.

Scoring

Game Point: 10,000
Required to begin accumulating points (get off the bench): 500

  • Individual 1’s: 100 points
  • Individual 5’s: 50 points
  • Three of a kind: 100 × the triple number (except triple 1’s = 1,000 points)
  • Four of a kind: 2 × the three-of-a-kind value
  • Five of a kind: 4 × the three-of-a-kind value
  • Six of a kind: 8 × the three-of-a-kind value
  • Triple pair (including four of a kind + a pair): 1,500 points
  • Six-dice straight (1–6): 1,500 points
  • Double triple: 2,500 points

Factor of Fortune — Progressive Carryover Pot

The Factor of Fortune creates a progressive bonus pot that increases by
500 points per occurrence and carries over from player to player
until claimed — or destroyed.

  • Each time the Factor of Fortune number is rolled, 500 points is added to the bonus pot.
  • The pot continues building across turns.
  • If a player farkles, they score nothing for that turn, but the bonus pot carries over to the next player.
  • If a player rolls the Factor of Fate number (a Fizzle Flop), the entire bonus pot is wiped out immediately and resets to zero.

To claim the bonus pot:

  • A player must bank 500 or more points on their turn.
  • Once they do, they collect the entire bonus pot in addition to their turn score.
  • The pot then resets to zero and begins building again.

Factor of Fate — Fizzle Flop

  • Counts as a farkle (zero points for the turn).
  • Wipes out the entire Factor of Fortune bonus pot.
  • If the same player rolls another Fizzle Flop on their next turn, their entire game score resets to zero.

Fate is patient.
