What’s the Word is a team game hosted by Marj. In this game, Marj will give the team that is up first a single word such as white. The team will then throw out suggestions for their captain to choose from when time is called. This game is similar to Password in that Marj is looking for a common bond between five words. If team 1 does not give a correct answer, Marj will give a second word to team 2 and it is their turn to try and guess the common bond. Play will pass back and forth between the 2 teams until one of the teams gives the correct answer.
If a team guesses the common bond on the first word, the puzzle is worth 30 points. For each word that is added, the puzzle value is reduced by 5 points. If it takes all 5 words to correctly guess the puzzle, the point value is 10 points. If the puzzle is not guessed by the team that started the puzzle after the fifth word is given, the opposing team will have a chance to steal for 5 points.
Example:
The 5 words given might include white, green, boat, plant, and guest, with the common bond being house, for white house, green house, house boat, house plant, and guest house.
At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins.
