Policies and Guidelines

Welcome to Games Galore and More. We hope your visits to our community will be entertaining, fun and a great source of learning. This page outlines the Games Galore and More chat room policies and rules of conduct for all members when accessing our site. This includes TeamTalk, and all our email lists.

GGM Management reserves the right to make changes to this policy At any time without notice.

Your account:

You can apply for an account on Games Galore and more by emailing support@gamesgaloreandmore.com,

When you request an account on Games Galore and More, please include your full name, a user name and the password you wish to use. Your user name must be your name. Games Galore and More uses real names only. Nick names of any kind will be changed to a name reflecting your full name. For example, if your name is John Smith, your user name can be John, John S, Johnny or any variant thereof. The management of Games Galore and More reserves the right to change a user name at any time. If there is a change, the user will be notified of the change by email.

Once you have applied for an account on GGM, you will receive an email with your username, password and a Team Talk configuration file that you can use to access our chat community.

Active Member Policy:

An active member on GGM must meet the following criteria:

  1. Attend at least 4 sanctioned events per month on TeamTalk,
  2. Have an active and up-to-date account on our server,
  3. Login on TeamTalk on their own device regularly.

If for some reason, a member fails to login for 2 months, his/her account may be removed from the server at the discression of management. The member is welcome to apply for a new account should they wish to come back.

If you do not meet these guidelines, you are still welcome on our site. Although we welcome family members and friends to listen in or
Participate in our events on the site while a member is logged in, we
ask that you notify us that they are there, especially if they want to participate or help you. If a member is playing a game where they have to answer a question on their own, we ask that you respect that it is an individual guess and the friend or family member may not help you. Your guest may help you if it is a team effort.

Perks of Becoming an Active Member:

Email Lists:

Anyone can sign up for our announcement list, member or not, but to be
on our Babble List, which is an email list for members only to interact with each other, you must be a member of Games Galore and More.

The Babble list is used to share items of interest.

Prizes and winnings:

Winning prizes on the site, whether cash through PayPal, Amazon Gift certificates, door prizes or free Auction Bucks in September, is reserved for
Active members as described above.

Chat Room Etiquette:

Our policy is simple, treat others the way you would like to be treated. Kindness and courtesy go a long way in creating camaraderie and friendship. Remember that people of different ages may participate in events hosted by Games Galore and More, so mind your language.

Room Announcements:

Silencing the TeamTalk client:

The TeamTalk client by default announces several events. People
signing in and out of the server, signing in and out of other channels
and signing in and out of the current channel to name a few. We require that any
member who uses an external speaker turn off all of these
announcements so that they aren’t distracted by them or annoying other
members in the channel. They are easily turned off by pressing
control-alt-S while in the channel.

To turn off the announcements permanently, follow the steps below:

  1. While in the TeamTalk window, press F4 to open the Preferences dialogue box.
  2. Press Control Tab until you land on the “Text to Speech” Tab.
  3. Tab once to go to the list of events that you can enable and disable.
  4. Using your arrow keys, you will arrow down and You will uncheck the following boxes:
    • User logged in,
    • User logged out,
    • User joined channel,
    • User left channel,
    • User joined current channel and
    • User left current channel.
  5. Tab to OK and press Enter to save your settings.

After you have made these changes, you shouldn’t hear Jaws announce any room event.

If you must absolutely know who is joining and leaving the channel, while in the main window, tab to the Read Only Edit field. You can use your arrow keys to cycle through the users coming and going as well as any texts that are written in the window.

Silencing your iPhone:

Alyssa suggests the following to silence VoiceOver and prevent it from being heard saying transmit and to silence the tone when keying up in TeamTalk, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to preferences.
  2. Check the box that makes it use iPhone speaker instead of earpeace.
  3. Turn on voice pre-processing/echo control.

Please note, GGM management may mute or take other actions against a member who refuses to follow this policy. This does not apply to members using a headset as their device may not be heard in the client.

Younger Member Policy:

Members who are 18 or under are not allowed in our channels until 4 p.m. local time on days when School is in session. They may access our channels during National holidays and summer vacation.

Liability:

Games Galore and More, our administrators, trainers, moderators, facilitators and tech support staff cannot be held responsible or liable for any damage to your computer or other devices through information you gain from any source on our site or our chat rooms. By accessing this site, you agree that Games Galore and More will not be held responsible in any way shape or form for any damages, real or implied to your computer equipment or devices, including any loss or damage to any data stored on said devices.
